Your Strawberries Are Still Green…

Your strawberries are still green. You must wait till they’re ripe before harvesting.

Admittedly this was a message I got in a game, but it rings true for so many things.

When I started my business, my intention was to help people – women especially – be empowered, be seen, be heard, reconnect with their true selves, LIVE the life they desire. I wanted women to know that they’re not alone in their journey. There are thousands of others going through the same challenges, struggles and pain. There are thousands of others who have been there and can offer her support. She’s not alone. I’ve been there and I’m here to support and champion her.

I planted the seeds. I posted about my journey and services in order to let her know she’s not alone. I wanted her to know that she COULD get out of that scary place that rendered her stuck. I wanted her to know that I could provide her the safe space and support she’d need to make that scary step out of her comfort zone. And so I posted, over and over again, so she would see me and reach out to me. All she had to do was send me a private message. But she didn’t.

I got angry and frustrated sometimes because in my mind, I was making it so easy for her to reach out, but she wasn’t even taking me up on my offers. My seeds were not even sprouting!

Months went by and I began to see fruits. She was following my posts. I kept posting but she wasn’t ready to act. I realised that it wasn’t her fault really. She needed nurturing. She needed to feel safe. She needed to know I wasn’t going anywhere. She needed to feel like she could trust me. And so I kept posting. Encouraging her. Supporting her. Letting her know she’s not alone.

Then she was ready. She was ripe and ready for harvest. She sent me that message. Oh the heavens sang with joy when she took that courageous step. My heart leapt for joy. She embodied the motto for courage – feel the fear and do it anyway! That ONE step was the step that made all the difference in her life. That one step signified her commitment to change her circumstances and to take control of her life.

Building a business is very much like gardening. We plant seeds, nurture them, try to keep them safe from pests – as we wait for them to be ripe for harvest.

Everything happens when it’s good and ready.
